Bergamot oil (Citrus bergamia) is a pure, natural essential oil that is expressed from the peel of the bergamot orange. It is used as a flavoring as well as in aromatherapy. When used as a flavoring, use sparingly.
Bergamot has a floral, citrus flavor and is what gives Earl Grey tea its distinctive taste.
These concentrated essential oils and flavours are 3-4 times stronger than typical alcohol-based extracts and work equally well for flavouring baked goods and icings as they do for candies. Performs exceptionally in high-heat applications such as candy making. Ideal for use in baking, frostings, fudge, candied popcorn, truffles, taffies and more.
